North of England Least Likely to Suffer Road Rage

A new report carried out by ColinAppleyard.com confirms what a lot of us must surely know, the North has the most relaxed drivers in the country!
According to their research, only 17% of drivers in the North experience bouts of road rage compared with 63% of motorists in London.
The most common triggers in the capital are traffic jams (45%), pedestrians & cyclists (34%) and having to wait at traffic lights and junctions (33%). Other reasons cited around the UK are, poor parking (22%), slow drivers (17%) and parents taking their kids to school during the school run (12%).
They also note that areas with quieter roads have fewer angry drivers – hardly surprising you might think, and that may be one of reasons the North comes out better than London and the South in general. ColinAppleyard spokesman Robin Appleyard did seem quite surprised at how low the North came out “You’ve still got some big cities up here – Newcastle, Leeds, Sheffield – but drivers seem to be far more courteous than they are down south”
