SEAT Confirms New SUV

SEAT have confirmed it will launch its first SUV in two years’ time and that it will likely share technology with Volkswagen’s compact SUV range.

Little is known about the launch of SEAT’s SUV, but some of the concept cars including the IBX show the direction it may go in.

The firm’s chairman, Jürgen Stackmann, commented “The SUV is an important pillar in the future corporate strategy and is a major step forward on the road to reaching sustainable profitability for the company.”

It is being developed at SEAT’s Martorell R&D base outside Barcelona and should be in showrooms in 2016
