Useful settings on your in-car computer
Chances are, you’ve never paid much attention to your in-car computer – meaning that you may be surprised to hear about the number of useful systems it contains.
From your in-car computer, you can find out your vehicle’s oil level, when your service is due, if your tyre pressure is correct, and even your chassis number (should you ever need it)!
When we look at the Audi MMI unit, we can access Vehicle Settings – we can control every button on the steering wheel, and change the functionality of some of them.
We can also access the Servicing & Checks menu, which allows you to find out the tyre pressure – but be aware: if your tyre pressure is fine, it won’t tell you anything. You only need to worry about your tyre pressure when the vehicle tells you to. It is also possible to access oil levels, to make sure that everything is well topped-up.
The Volkswagen system is slightly different to the Audi MMI system – but they are primarily the same. It’s handy to get used to your in-car computer – you never know what your vehicle might be trying to tell you!
